While some of Rosemary’s work has a strong figurative base, the other strand is about exploring purely colour and formal relationships. The major concerns in this abstract art are with surface and colour saturation.

Her abstract art paintings are exemplified by the use of geometric constructions allied with surface texture, colour saturation, proportion, line and tone.

A branch of Rosemary’s family was from Russia where they used metallic colour, particularly gold in their famous Icon’s. Rosemary too makes many images which seem to re-invoke the symbol of the Icon – Peter M. Hicks.
